Tour Detail

Spend a relaxed sunny day cycling through some of New Zealand’s world-class vineyards. The Waipara Valley is known for its spicy and rich Pinot Noirs, Rieslings and other aromatic varieties and now boasts a new, off-road bicycle trail linking together some of the region’s finest wineries. This easy tour is perfect for all wine and food fanatics.

You’ll be picked up and driven north to your first cellar door for morning coffee and your first sampling experience. After another wine tasting in the quaint little town of Waipara it’ll be time to get on your bikes. You’ll cycle along quiet country roads to join the wine trail which will take you to lunch. You’ll learn about the rich history of the region, while tasting and selecting the perfect wine to accompany your delicious antipasto shared platter. After a lazy lunch (shared platter), you’ll hop back on the bikes and ride through rolling vineyards to your final winery destination. A final tasting may be followed by coffee and cake ending your Waipara Tour and after the bikes are loaded up, you’ll be chauffeured back to Christchurch. Price as follows:

Inclusions

Hybrid bike and helmet, hotel pick up and transport to and from Waipara. Wine tastings at any of 3 cellar doors (which could include Pegasus Bay, Torlesse, Waipara Springs, Greystone and Black Estate), and a delicious shared lunch platter. 10am pick up from your central Christchurch accommodation, drop off by 5pm. Please Note: a $100 peak holiday supplement, Christmas, New Year, Easter etc is added to tours with a public holiday.
